We all know the feeling of getting to the end of a long working week and needing a wind down. So the O Bar & Restaurant in Astor Terrace strives to create the perfect environment for those after-work Friday drinks. Fridays at the O Bar are laid-back but classy, with sophisticated food, drinks and importantly live music.  The O Bar is developing a reputation for showcasing great music on a Friday, becoming the city home for many local performing artists.

On Friday, 15th of September, singer / songwriter Jesse Cait was the evenings co-host of music and enjoyment. Armed with a catalogue of classic hits as covers, Jesse turned on the tunes at 5 O’clock and was continued to deliver throughout the rest of the night, displaying her considerable talent as a leading Brisbane artist. Having performed on stage in front of multiple large crowds for nearing 10 years, this Brisbane gal gave us an effortless performance of old classics, songs you’d completely forgot about and even renditions of new tracks making their way around the world. Kicking off her performance with Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty she played through hits from Stealers Wheel, Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, Ed Sheeran, Kings of Leon and Vance Joy, while adding her own touch and flavor to the mix. While being armed with an acoustic guitar, her gentle smooth voice worked perfectly to deliver a beautiful harmony which surrounded the O Bar and Restaurant. Adding her charisma and style into each song allowed her to find her voice and really enjoy her time with us all.

It’s true, that having live music at a bar and restaurant is the classic Friday night value add, but Jesse Cait really took it to the next level. Without being too over bearing, she played classics that everyone knew and could enjoy, allowing for a sophisticated, and fun evening for everyone. O Bar’s menu and dining experience was the perfect scene for a night like this. Having the fire heaters blasting, awesome live music, amazing service and great food, felt like the warmest hug to start off the weekend.

If you’re in the city any day of the week, check out O Bar and Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.
